yesterday I deleted the files in /lib/firmware/`uname -r` and so today my wireless card (an Intel integrates 2100 card) was unusable. I've managed to copy the firmware files from the old Feisty Fawn kernel directory (/lib/firmware/2.6.20-16-generic) and so now I can connect to the net again, but I fear that I've lost other firmwares too.
if I reinstall the kernel package, can I restore the gutsy gibbon firmwares?
